All sevens refer to achievement, but the suit of Spades is negative, negating the positive aspect of achievement and turning into failure or, at least, big problems. The difference with the Seven of Clubs is that the problems signified by the Seven of Spades are harder to work around, they also tend to not be the result of the querent’s lack of effort, but rather they arise from bad luck.

The Seven of Spades is a relatively easy card to understand. It shows negative circumstances causing upheaval. In general, the Seven of Diamonds represents a reward for a job well-done in all fields of life. It represents rewards and awards of all kinds. Figuratively (and if relevant, literally) it is the card of harvest. In itself, the money that the card represents is not lucky money, but earned money. However, this may be superseded by other cards or by the context of the question.

Because the Seven of Diamonds represents earnings, it can stand for the querent’s job, if relevant to the question. All sixes in cartomancy are connected with trouble, so obviously the Six of Spades is going to be a really bad card, and of course on of the worst things that can happen to a living thing is to get sick, so the primary meaning of the card is that of sickness.

The sickness the Six of Spades speaks about can be literal or metaphorical. Traditionally, the organs or body parts affected by the illness are found in the cards adjacent to the Six of Spades, but I would urge you to be extremely cautious. Never diagnose. The best you can do is tell the querent to seek a second opinion if you see that their doctor seems to be way off.

But the cards surrounding the Six of Spades can also signal money coming from the sickness, such as is the case with sick pay, if there are small Diamonds, or insurance money, etc. Furthermore, the sickness may be that of an object which malfunctions or is broken.

From a graphical standpoint you can see the idea of prison represented by the single pip being hemmed in by Spades all around. From a numerological standpoint, all fives deal with change, and the Five of Spades signifies, usually, either lack of (positive) change or changes in the wrong direction.

Broadly, the card is the opposite of the Five of Hearts, representing lack of opportunities, dearth, dejection and the need to make great sacrifices. At best, it represents that the querent will need to give up something important in order to achieve what he wants.

The Five of Spades ca  a card of prison in the more classic sense, and more generally it signals troubles with the law. The idea of prison, however, can apply to all things that we feel imprisoned by, such as guilt or addictions.
