The TikTok Psychic Who Screwed Herself Up

One of my favorite things in life is when idiots in the online spiritual community are outed for the entitled, narcissistic, exploitative asses that they are.

I don’t know if you are aware of this story, but a TikTok psychic literally accused an innocent person of being the mastermind behind a series of murders, and she had other leg to stand on except that she’d done a reading.

I have honestly no idea if this psychic was just doing it to drive traffic to her profile or if she is seriously that deluded. The fact that, whenever a celebrity dies, swathes of psychics get their 15 minutes by “channeling their spirit” on youtube would argue in favor of the woman being just another tacky, phony con artist. However, the fact that she apparently chose to represent herself in court does lend the possibility of her being delusional some credibility.

Either way, she’s royally screwed herself up, though the damage she’s done both to the innocent person she’s accused and to the families of the murder victims can hardly be repaid.

I feel one day a study should be made on the incredible mix of ignorance, entitlement and sheer delusion that pervades the community, especially the online one. (I am aware of studies done on the new age community, but I believe the modern, online community should be studied critically)

(To be clear, I also do readings on current events as case studies for myself. I never publish nor talk about them for the obvious reason that exploiting personal tragedies is not my idea of a good time. )

Future Projects + Thank You

As of today, I have officially doubled the amount of single visitors that reached my blog compared to last year and almost tripled the amount of page views, and for this I thank you wholeheartedly!

Fun facts: 1) despite my Sibilla section being older and therefore better indexed online, my playing cards section has been visited more. I am not surprised, as playing cards are more popular, but I am surprised that it happened so quickly. 2) I officially have visitors from all inhabited continents! 3) The US have by far overtaken Italy as the country that visits my blog the most 4) The UK, Brazil, Greece, Peru, Canada, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia also have a strong presence 5) In total 84 countries have visited! 6) I have no statistics for this, but I have also interacted with a lot more people through private messages. It’s always fun to exchange opinions and experiences

Future Projects

This year I have been active as never before. I started branching off in various directions that interest me, and I have plans for more. In addition to adding to the sections I have already opened, I plan to start talking more about Tarot, as well as a new interest of mine, the I Ching.

I also want to open a section on magic and occultism, as well as expanding the section on spirituality. I’ve been thinking about it a lot–I usually prefer to heed the old advice to keep silent about occult endeavors, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong.

A section on philosophy is also probably going to come, as I find it hard to separate serious occultism from philosophy, but it’s unlikely to come next year (though never say never). The thing is, my PhD in philosophy makes me rather anal when it comes to philosophical topics.

As I started dabbling in video editing, a small youtube channel may be coming at some point, but I don’t want to put myself under too much stress, so that’s just a thought at the moment.

Also, in my spare time I have started editing old manuscripts on various occult topics, which I plan to make available on amazon. In one case I simply updated the English, but I am also translating a couple of books from Italian, French and Latin.

Finally, I’ve been thinking of moving the blog from wordpress.com to wordpress.org, but I’m still undecided on the matter. One thing’s for sure: I want to get rid of the ads.

Longing and Presence

One thing I’ve noticed as hubby and I have finally started actively looking for a new place is how incredibly tiring the mere mere act of longing for the future is. It is like the opening of a black hole at the top of one’s mind, from where all energy is drained away.

Longing is really like booze in one way: you are suddenly unaware of what goes on right in front of you, everything feels less real, and yet in the back of your mind there is a muted awareness that you are willingly deluding yourself.

I’ve noticed it especially during the morning meditation, when my awareness is sharpest and most aligned with the present, only to be yanked away a few minutes later as the day starts. All I can do is observe myself with curiosity, like one being amused by the antics of a pet.

Change and Repetition

The other time I talked about the old man in my building who keeps repeating the same stereotyped phrases and sentences. I conjectured that he was probably parked there by some relative who couldn’t take care of him. Clearly, whatever mental issue he might be suffering from, loneliness is not helping, as he can go the whole day saying the same things over and over.

Yesterday two kids dropped by–I assume his grandkids or nephews. They’ve been playing and yelling and laughing the whole time. Strangely enough, this seems to have broken through the crust of repetition that has clotted up this man’s life. He hasn’t said a single one of his usual phrases. Instead, for the first time, I heard him talk regularly and more or less coherently.

I’m not going to read any trite moral into this. It is just a pleasant observation.

Living in the Twilight Zone

I have no idea if there is some stray planet rubbing its ass against some odd segment of my astrological chart, but lately I’ve been having the feeling of living in an avant-garde movie.

For one, we’ve been getting a bunch of new neighbors straight of out Alice’s looking glass. There is an elderly man who has probably been parked in one of the apartments by some stressed relatives. He seems to be showing some signs of mental deterioration. He spends his days uttering sentences and bits of songs, always the same (“Wenn die Rosen erblühen in Malaga”)

Another new neighbor seems to be having an orgasm every minute. Either she needs help or she works as cam girl. Yet another neighbor has probably had issues with his vocal cords, because he talks both very loudly and like a boy going through adolescence–you known, when one minute you are Pavarotti and the next you could sing Barbie Girl.

A couple upstairs has a newborn girl who screams like a strangled frog, and to top it all off we also have new American neighbor who clearly was raised in some getto neighborhood where everyone was yelling all the time, because that’s what he does. I’m looking forward to the Autumn, so we can keep the windows shut.

But the oddest thing yet happened a couple of days ago. I knew a parcel from Amazon would arrive in the morning, so when the doorbell woke me up I jumped straight out of bed and bolted down the stairs, still half asleep, yet wondering why it was so dark outside.

It turned out that it was dark because it was 4am. Waiting for me at the door was not the Amazon dude, but a middle-aged Arab guy with wild, unblinking eyes, holding a book in front of me. “Gott und das General” he announced (I know it should be “der General”, but I distinctly remember him saying “das General”) followed by some incoherent ramblings in broken German on the virtues of said book. I googled the book later that day and it seems to be an old novel by an author I’ve never heard of.

On a lighter note, hubby and I are thinking of moving to find a bigger place. And I can’t say I’m not glad.

I Ching and Feng Shui

Just started an incredible adventure learning about Chinese metaphysics. I hope I’ll be able to talk about it on the blog in the future. It happened completely by accident. I started reading about the I Ching (or Yi Jing) and this sent me down an unexpected rabbit hole of (self) discovery. I’ve always been in love with Taoism, but now it’s even more the case. Meanwhile, I’ll start posting again about cartomancy (got a couple of things to finish in the playing cards section)
