My Other New Skat Deck (With German Suits)
Ok, I swear this is the last deck I’m buying for a while, but it was only a couple of € on Ebay, and it was vintage, so yeah.
It is actually a Schafkopf deck (literally, sheep head), and it is comprised of 36 cards. As far as I can tell, not all Schafkopf reading traditions use all 36 cards, as some discard the sixes.

My New Skat / Piquet Deck
At some point in life something’s got to give, so I don’t think I will use this deck very much, but I was browsing on Ebay and I came across a vintage Skat deck. I am sucker for vintage decks just as much as a hate the new ones more or less uniformly, plus I had just published my new article on reading this type of deck, so I took it as a sign and bought it. I love the papery texture of the cards. They probably wouldn’t survive aggressive use, but it will be enough to experiment with on occasion. Interestingly, if we take the King of Hearts to represent me and we use the meanings I received, this großes Blatt (grand tableau) describes my recent past quite accurately.

Great News, I’m Pregnant!
No, not me–science hasn’t come that far. I picked three cards for the day around a week ago.
In a daily reading, these cards could indicate just about anything, although the tone is positive and it is connected with good news for sure. But two days later a friend in our group announced she was pregnant. The Hope card is strongly connected with maternity and nourishment, and is often present when asking about pregnancies, and the Child card speaks for itself. Also note that daily readings can come true even in the following days.

Odd Things On This Blog, And Other News
For a couple of months I have been getting between 35 and 60 individual daily visitors on this blog, which, considering it’s a personal blog with no advertising I am perfectly happy with, especially since I started out with 0 daily visitors a day a couple of years back and it has slowly but steadily been increasing.
So you can imagine my surprise when the other day I check my stats and I see over 1000 daily visits (that is, individual users, not page views). Well, I look into it and I discover that they all come from Falkenstein, a small town in Germany. I start researching people with a similar experience and it turns out it’s a bot or AI thingy (excuse the technical jargon).
The following day, I still had a staggering amount of visitors, but around half. The day following that, the number was halved again and so on. But it is still happening, and it kind of freaks me out, though I don’t know why. I hope it goes away by itself. If anyone knows anything about this kind of stuff and wants to hit me up, I’m all ears.
In other news, I have been having crazy fun with the Bolognese tarot, but soon I will be needing fresh victims, so I’m planning on offering cheap readings within a couple of months.
Finally, although I’ve been getting good feedback from you guys about my youtube videos, I know part of it is also encouragement, and I know I need to improve my craft. It’ll come with time. Still I am grateful for the nice messages!

The Neighbors (Update on Reading)
In this article I discussed a horary reading I did for myself on whether the new house we moved to would be good. My interpretation was that the house was generally good, but that there might be problems with the neighbors due to Saturn, ruler of the third house, afflicting the cusp. It turned out that the neighbors were normal people, it seemed, and that there was a problem with the manager.
Well, that was until last week, when the new manager contacted my husband, who represents the homeowners, to tell him that one of our neighbors hasn’t been paying his share of the bills for some months. Hopefully we won’t have to end up in front of a judge, but it is turning out to be quite an annoyance.
There is a small lesson to be learned, I think, from this whole thing. Often when I read for others, they contact me after a week telling me that they were excited about the prediction but nothing has come to pass. It is easy, right after a reading, to forget that readings can take months (sometimes many months) to materialize.
This is also where we, as readers, need to be honest with the querent. It is easy to turn our sitters into addicts hanging on to our every word, asking for a reading on whether they should shift their weight on their right or left ass cheek when sitting on the toilet, needing to be reassured every week of what we are saying.
Personally, I rarely accept to redo readings unless enough time has passed, or unless something absolutely new and unforeseen comes up that I hadn’t predicted. Still, it is normal for querents (and for us, when we are the querent) to assume that the first thing that happens is the materialization of the final result instead of a step in its unfoldment.

Zazu Says Hi (Example Reading)
After getting our little Ciuffy, we were on the lookout for another ‘tiel. I kept browsing through the ads for a young, tame male, but I kept seeing either clear scams or birds with other issues. I did a geomancy reading, asking if I would soon find one that fit the bill of what we were looking for:
I am signified by the ruler of the Ascendant, Fortuna Minor. Small animals are a Sixth House matter. Technically, if this was a horary chart, I would have to turn the chart (will I get someone else’s bird? Sixth from the Seventh, i.e., the radical Twelfth). However, I have found that Geomancy is less prescious about this kind of stuff. Let’s see how the chart speaks and let us follow it instead of trying to impose ideas on it.
The Sixth House is occupied by Puer: a male! That bodes well. The Judge, however, is Populus, which doesn’t say much. Worse still, Populus comes from two Rubeus. Still, we also find that Fortuna Major connects the Ascendant ruler with the Sixth House, since it is found both in the Seventh and the Twelfth house. A positive figure connecting two positive figures is a positive sign (Puer is more neutral, but still good in context).
Fortuna Minor, furthermore, usually indicates shorter timespans, and it moves to an angle (the Tenth house), which is also a generally positive sign as far as time is concerned.
The reading was done a couple of weeks ago, and we found Zazu yesterday.
I am still unsure about that Geomantic Court, with two Rubeus and Populus as judge. It is sometimes said that Populus has little to say, but I don’t believe that. One possible interpretation is that, since Rubeus has the quality of being excessive, the Populus resulting from two Rubeus might show too many birds (a crowd of too many), which is why the person I got it from wanted to get rid of him (or rather, his wife wanted to get rid of him). The court could also simply be warning about potential scams or questionable deals (and I had to sift through a fair share of those).
Be it as it may, I am not too worried about the Court, since the Judge of the Judge (Judge + First House) gives Fortuna Minor, a positive sign for the long run. I’ll update the post if something comes up.
