Ok, I swear this is the last deck I’m buying for a while, but it was only a couple of € on Ebay, and it was vintage, so yeah.

It is actually a Schafkopf deck (literally, sheep head), and it is comprised of 36 cards. As far as I can tell, not all Schafkopf reading traditions use all 36 cards, as some discard the sixes.

I also have this deck. And I have seen schafkopf meanings on a hungarian website. Though I’ve never taken to using them so far. Are you going into that system in the future?

Not sure, to be honest. I don’t want to stretch myself too thin, but at the same time I am curious and might experiment if I find a good German source. The ones I have seen so far tend to discard the sixes and follow more or less similar meanings as the the skat deck, with Acorns = Clubs, Leaves = Spades, Hearts = Hearts and Bells = Diamonds. As far as I know it is very extensively practiced in Bayern. Some also use the sixes but I haven’t seen the meanings for them. We’ll see

I’ve heard similiar. I wonder if you saw the German site I saw a few months ago on that subject. If I find the website I’ll send it to you. And see what you think.

Do let me know if you find it. So far I have discovered Lilith-Kartenlegen. Stregato also had started posting the meanings of the German cards from a very old booklet but stopped after Leaves and Acorns

I have the lilith one too. I think perhaps those are the only resources that come up with any really information that’s usable.

Yup. I’ve also found a couple of really overpriced courses by people that my gut feelings don’t let me trust. I was lucky to meet two people who gave me their meanings for the skat deck, maybe I’ll get lucky again if I don’t think too much about it 😬

yes me the same. That’s why I don’t go in for those courses. At the moment I’m looking at the Italian books of tarocchino bolognese in Italian.. and I think for the time I’ll be sticking to that. As it seems to have a really amazing ability to reply to questions so accurately.. and also it seems a whole let easier.

About that, I’ll start reviewing the existing literature on the tarocchino in the near future. There aren’t many books available, so it shouldn’t take too much

I think its such a complete system and one of the most easiest I’ve seen. And yet the interpretation takes most of the effort. But it’s truly a great system.
